Attending an interview can be a nerve racking experience. So we’ve put our heads together and tried to list a few pointers to make sure you get the most out it.
The main thing before attending any interview is to do your research on the company. Make sure you read the company’s website and find out all about their core business and industry.
Re-read your CV prior to an interview. Make sure you’re thoroughly familiar with its contents. It’s the interviewer’s only outline of your career, so will form the basis of the questions you’ll be asked during the interview.
Dress for success. Look the part for the position you’re interviewing for. Be meticulously groomed and ensure you take any References or Letters of recommendation.
Do whatever it takes to arrive on time. Check out the address and parking facilities before the interview date to make sure you know exactly where you are going.
Go out of your way to be polite. Not only to the interviewer, but also to other people you see. Use a firm handshake, direct eye contact and a friendly smile.
Always display loyalty to your former employer. And demonstrate a sincere interest and enthusiasm for the job you are interviewing for.
